fun times! that shark photo is my fave - ok maybe that crazy tall bike?! all of them :D
Thanks Meligrosa, you would wonder how they could actually get up on that Bike to Ride it it is so awkward looking.
About that Car on the wrong side of the Traffic Island, as you know we drive on the left side of the Road like the UK. The Driver could have been Foreign in a Hired Car with Irish Plates.
I believe Canada's largest Car free days take place in Montreal. They always draw a lot of people.
Likewise, Vancouver draws a good number as well.
With the elections in Toronto about a month away, one candidate wants to make one major road completely free of cars in the downtown core.
Unfortunately he wants it strictly for pedestrians only (no bikes either).
One of the front runners (Rob Ford) wants to ban any event that will close a road down, as he doesn't want vehicle traffic bothered.
The Government here is Promoting more Cycling and Public Transport use,but a lot on the Dublin City Council and other Councils around the Country are to Car centric. There is a Fight going on for Years every time some People want to put in Infrastructure or even a Car Free Day they try to Obstruct everything.
Some Years there was more Streets blocked off for Car free Day but this year there was less.
There is no Rampant anti Cycling bias however only a reluctance to do anything that would Curtail Cars moving on the Roads unlike your Politician who just hates Cyclist.
The flea market looks really good, sounds like you had a great time. The cycling stall looks good and I like it how you can get some bike saddle covers. Nice to see such a wide variety of bikes on Car Free Day. Thanks for uploading lots of photos.
Hi Velochick,The Car Free Day is just a Token Effort as usual with just three Streets actually being Car Free,Pathetic. The Picture of the Bike Stall in the Market could have been better.
I tried Uploading more Stuff but am having a problem with Pictures from the Mobile Phone being Uploaded , The Computer might be full .
